Health and Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing is not just about having a
healthy body and not being ill. It is also about how you live your
life and the chances you have to do things that will make you more
healthy, things like:
- Exercise that you enjoy
- Eating a balanced diet and checking your weight
- Meeting people and having someone to talk to
- Seeing your Doctor and having a Health Action Plan
- Having the right help from mainstream services (like your GP
and the Hospital) and specialist health services for people with
learning disabilities (like the Hospital Liaison Service, Community
Nurses, Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language
Therapists and Mental Health/Learning Disability Liaison
Service).
Health screening and health action planning is offered to
everyone who has a learning disability in Blackburn with
Darwen.
A service user group has made a video about health
